Familiar faces promoted for Colonels Magruder, Watkins Mill still strong this season | |
Healthy is a suitable
term to describe the squads this season in Division I. Nearly all clubs
were unscathed by graduation, and the landscape should provide serious
competition. Watkins Mill: Key Returners: Kristen Hand (Jr., P), Rachel Lovejoy (Sr., C), Tori Browoski (Jr., 1B) Top Newcomers: Rachel Jacobs (Fr.,P), Jenni Rench (Fr.,3B) Watkins Mill looks to ascend to the success it achieved last season, and it has the talent to do it. Rookie coach McGaffin inherits a team that lost three solid players but has standouts ready to take over. Hand is the team's top pitcher and with Lovejoy forms a fearsome battery. That and the anticipated emergence of newcome Jacobs will make for some tough pitching. Borowski is another top returner and will take over first base duties this season. "We should be as good as we were last year," McGaffin said. "We should be up there." |
